24/01/2026 Happy (Super Late) New Year!!
Hello y'all!! Happy (super late) New Year!! I hope everyone is doing alright and that last month was also good to you! As explained in my last blogpost, I went to pass my birthday, the holidays and the new year in my grandma's, somewhere in Curitiba. At first the weather was kinda cold, but like, after the first day it just got kinda hot. I think staying in my grandma's was really nice! I mean, I feel we had a lot to do most of the days and frankly I kinda miss it staying there even though we got back home, like, a week or so. I like staying in my home and my room and having the things I like to do here, but I'm not gonna lie it feels weird comming back. I didn't cry this time when we left the airport, surprisingly. I think maybe I'm more at ease about my grandma's healty and safety then before. Honestly I don't know how I would feel when the time comes and she dies. She's been around for basically my entire life and she is the only grandparent I have left in general, so the though of it happening is scary. I wish that she stays well and manages to stay a life for a little more time, and that Thor, her dog, and Minnie, her cat, will also protect her and give her love.
I got to see other family members too, such as Bruno, my cousing, and his children and also my father, my aunt and my brother too! It was also nice spend sometime with them and I also got some things from them. For my birthday I went in a buffet pizzaria with mom, grandma and my cousing's family and it was really good! I never really got an experience like that outside of old classmates birthdays, so it was nice with experiencing with them!! Expending the holidays and even the new years was really nice as well. One especific thing I thought it was kinda funny about the new years, well, I didn't manage to sleep. We were supposed to go to the airport at 3 am, so while my mom and grandma decided to take a little nap, I was awake, so I decided to spend the time continue watching Hitman Reborn! my friends were like, on the beach or on their home too, while the last thing I did last year and the first thing I did THIS year was watching anime Lmao!!!
Well, I wanted to show y'all a few things I got during the vacation, so here we go!!!

This is a drawing that I got as a birthday gift from my good friend Tori!! It features Quote and Curly Brace from Cave Story, probably because I had introduced these characters to her some days before and she seemed to like them a bunch (which makes me happy). I really love how everything in it looks! The characters look adorable in her style, the shading is pretty good and the way it uses the characters colors is really clever. Like the only colors present are from Quote's and Curly's pallete and wow their pallete color really gives this festive feel to it! Once again I thank Tori for taking out of her time to make this beatiful artwork!! (@^V^@) Also I'm using the little Quote in the botton right as my discord pfp. Him with this huge pile of cake with this worried expression is really, really cute LoL!!
A birthday gift from my mom! This is a book I've heard a few times, but mostly while watching the channel Ash Veil Lane and watching videos about MyHouse.wad. I've heard they're inspired by this book, with references here and there, and I also heard the book by itself is pretty "wacky" and kinda "weird". Because of that, I wanted to have a chance to read it as it at least sounded pretty unique to me and also a nice way to work my brain and maybe get some inspiration myself. I'm at the third chapter of "The Navidson Record", which is still at the beggining of the story, so I can't really say much about it at the moment. I do like how the book tries to play with the real and the unreal to mess you up. Like, if you didn't knew all of this was wrote by one person, maybe you'd think that at least that Truant (the "notes guy") could be real. Also if some of the citations ARE real, like from actual real things that exist, I think that is totally cool, but haven't really looked that up yet. Maybe if I do search it up, I should do it after finishing it.
This is a birthday gift from my cousin's son. He know I like to draw, so he gave me this coloring book. I'm not sure if Bobbie Goods became a fad anywhere else other than Brazil (although it took me a long while to know about them), but I besically they're just coloring books with cute cartoon animals. I also got these marker pens to use with it, so I can just color it like intended. I never really paid much mind about these, but considering I got it as a gift, I should make use of it. I heard that coloring books are a sort of hobby to some, so maybe every now and then I could try it as well!!
A birthday gift I got from my grandma. She said she bought it so I cool wake up like "the old days", althought apparently the alarm is off by a few minutes. I now put it up on one of my shelves. I can't really tell the hour with these kind of clocks, but I do really like the black+yellow combo. Dunno if I'm gonna keep the alarm (LoL) but I enjoyed it anyway.
Got this from a store that sells used stuff! An actual issue of the "Shūkan Shōnen Magajin" aka Weekly Shonen Magazine!! It says on the spine that it's from 1999 and this is the 6th volume (at least I think? There was another one in the store that had "4-5" on the spine, so I'm not 100% sure). Dunno how or why the store owners had this, but I thought of buying it as, well, it's not like you would find this just anywhere else here, but then my mom ended up buying it for me as a christmas gift as she didn't really knew what to give me (it wasn't that expensive either, like what if I told you that there actual localized, physical manga here in Brazil that is, somehow, wayyyyyyy expensivier than this??). I can reconize I few faces, like GTO and Hajime No Hippo, but I can't lie, I can't really reconize most of the titles here, which is really interesting. There is some here that dispite not know anything about, it got my attention, mostly by being kinda weird LoL! When I get much better with my japanese, I'll read this and understand what is happening in some of these (btw, I just got into a course to study japanese pretty recently, dunno if I commented about it before, but even though I'm not that far in yet, I do feel I'm getting better at reconizing hiragana and katakana, which is a great start)!
I got this one from my brother as a birthday gift. It's a pretty simple shirt, with a muted blue color and a few things written on the top right. Not really the type of shirt that I buy, but this one isn't bad. I actually like the color and frankly the desing being pretty simplistic sticks out from the ones I normally use, so I like it. To tell the truth, when my father asked me what size I wear, I end up thinking "is he gonna give me a shirt?", so seeing it was from my brother was a bit of a surprise, although I think my father could've being a little more discrete LoL!
I asked this one to my father as my christmas gift. I thought "I don't normally ask him stuff and he probably will buy a shirt or something similar to me if I say nothing, so maybe I should ask for something I would like to have". This is the very first physical switch game I ever had. It isn't easy finding one where I live and when I find one it's either something I'm not interested, something expensive and something both at the same time. In that case, I think this was a great gift to ask, as it would be kinda hard for me to buy in other circumstances, and the fact it's from a series I like and also two games in one also ups the "worth it" factor!! When he game me, I remember he asked me to show how the game plays, which I found kinda hard to do. I mean, it wasn't hard to show it to him, but it was hard to show, like, the beggining sequence of whole ass RPG, something my father definetly DOESN'T know. It was kinda awkward, but it was nice getting to see the box, putting the cartridge in and seeing everything working. I didn't do the taste test, because y'know I sorta already know what's gonna happen and it isn't 2017 anymore for me to joke around with it, although the thought was kinda tempting. The game is also really nice so far! I'm starting with the DQ1 portion and frankly I like how the gameplay is so far and I think the aditional things added in this remake really adds to the world, at the least in my opinion. I should certainly also try to play the original versions of these games afterwards as I'm sure they would be fun experiences and still kinda different from whatever I experience with the remakes. I'm really happy with this!
A case for the Nintendo Switch that we found by pure luck in a videogame shop that we didn't even know it exists. Until the moment we bought it, I only had a box with a plastic bag and a thing to coushion it, in case I need to keep it out of the open or when we go on vacation and I take it with me, so having a case for it is really helpful. I like how it looks, the way it mimics Mario's outfit is really neat (all I suppose that makes two portable consoles cases that have Mario in it in someway). It also can hold the power cord and a game case too!! Sure, maybe I won't be going a lot of places with it as I would with the 3DS (the Switch is kinda big to use in public imo), but this is still help and certainly better than just a box LoL
Hey, remember my 3DS' sd card? I finally got a new one for it during the vacation! Yup, it took me 9 months to get a new one for it, with my old sd card getting busted in last year's march!!! Can you believe it???? I swear it didn't seem like it took that much time, but I guess I was wrong. Perhaps I had enough things to focus on during the year that I didn't end up noticing the time that well... Well, good thing is that I got a brand new one and now everything is in order again. I can finally play as much Theatrhythm as I want now (I had stopped playing it while without a sd card because I got kinda scared it would fuck something up).
I bought this one from that gameshop that I've got a few games before. Unfortunally, it didn't had a box with it like with Pokémon Mystery Dungeon that I got last time, but it also wasn't expensive, so I suppose that's a good thing! I've played Mass Attack a few times before, the first time being in a childhood friend's house, which I only played it for a little bit, and also a few times on my R4 cartridge (before it stopped working), so I'm pretty happy to finally have it physically! I would say the game is kinda difficult, especially when you're still getting the hang of it, but like, getting the gold star (finishing the level without getting hit) may be kind of a challenge, which is actually pretty interesting (although I can see it getting a bit frustrating LoL).
From the same game shop. They still had some original PS2 games, so I was looking through it and then I decided to pick this one. It contains 14 old Namco's arcade games, such as Pac-man, Galaga and Dig Dug, just to name a few. Maybe buying shit like this seems a little stupid, as it's stuff I could maybe try to emulate on my computer, but frankly I like having these old game collections. Besides, the presentation these have is also really great imo. I haven't played most of the titles present here either, so it's a good chance to learn about the classics and maybe even show it to my mom as the controls won't be as confusing to her! The bad thing is that my PS2 is broken right now, so I'll have to wait until it gets fixed which y'know, kinda sucks. Like I bought that thing not long ago and our appartment was all closed up, so I have no idea how it broke... but eh, worrying that much about it won't do me good. I'll just have to wait until it's fixed and then check how it's doing every now and then just to be careful.
Technically, this isn't something I bought during the vacation, but it did finally arrived home a few days before I was back home, so I suppose it's fair to include it, right? Can't play it yet because of the same reason mentioned above, but everything seems to be in order and frankly it's a miracle I found a copy of it that wasn't super expensive.
Besides these I also got a few sweets, but I don't have a picture of them LoL!! I remember my brother did give me like, a small bag that had some chocolates inside, some honey bread and also strawberry jam and it all looked really pretty! Dunno where he got that from, but y'know it wasn't bad. Some of the things also were kinda christmas themed. I mean, I remember it had a chocolate ball that was wrapped up like a present and I think one of the honey breads had a little snowman face too, so y'know, it stood out really well is all I'm saying.
Well, my original idea was to just talk about a little about the vacation and the stuff I got there and such, but I ended up taking my time to write this. Because of that I think I'll add a few other things in this final portion!
Well, I got a test from one of the courses I'm taking. I have to make a logo of a made up e-sports team using vectors and also make a slide out of it, detailing the thought process and such. Basically, I've been using most of my time this week on this and, well, I think I might be able to finish it before the it reaches the date limit. Drawing with factor is way too hard, at least to me LoL! Idk it just seems way more difficult than digital and physical art, but I'm still doing my best to deliver something that at least I don't it looks "pretty bad". Besides that, sometimes I'm spending my free time to record some gameplay. I can't say much yet, but I plan on using the footage for a video. It isn't going to be a AMV this time, as I wanna test the waters a bit with other stuff. It's gonna take a while as this is my first time doing anything like that and also the game I ended going with seems to take a good while, but I'll be sure to work on this one on the side and hopefully realize my idea eventually!
Since I'm talking about videos and such, I also wanted to talk a little bit about my twitter account. If you don't know, I ended up creating one, after listening to friends advices, so maybe my art could reach more people, and while a dislike it a lot, I decided maybe giving it a try as it seems the most basic one. Well, with the most recent update, it's now piss easy to just edit people's pictures with ai, and since then I ended up deciding that maybe I should give up posting my artworks there for now. I've I wanna show my art to people from outside the internet revival space, I'll need to decide on anywhere else. Sucks that othe picks I had in mind also seems pretty "anti-art", so I think maybe the only place I could go is Newgrounds maybe? At least that place seems pretty "artist freendly", so that makes it the top 1 decision at the moment, although I think I'll take some time until I decide to go there.
Besides all that, I sent my PS2 and PS4 to a repair shop during the days I spent making this blogpost. It seems things are a bit slow at the moment due to being the first month of the year and most of the employes being out, but hopefully next month they'll work on them and figure it out what's wrong. I'll just need to wait and see.
That's it for this blogpost! I'm sorry for taking so long to finish it all up. I thought I would've finished it in a flash, but I decided to take my time and I re-wrote a lot of things in here. I hope last month was great for whomever is reading this and I also hope this new year will be a better one than last year!
After this, I'll probably focus on the list I did on the last blogpost, detailing on what I wanted to do when I got back home. I hope y'all will like 'em!!
See ya!!
