10/10/2025 Tis the season for creepy stuff

pumpkincat

Heyyyyyy, it's October now!! This means we're at the spooky season now, when monters run among the living, black cats deliver enormous weird rat looking creatures at your doorstep and serial killers can pull off their best Michael Myers cosplay so they could look stylish as hell as they're about to kill the dance floor (and people) tonight!! I really like halloween ever since I was a child. I mean, I never really got to go trick or treating and I only got to wear costumes and only when I was really young, but I still like the vibes and frankly I would do anything to get to wear a cool costume at least one day.
In anyway, halloween only happens at the end of the month, right? So I shouldn't focus only on it. Another thing that October represents to me, besides being the "Deltarune month" (because chapter 1 released in octorber), it is also the month that Sillyfes was created!! That's right, this site is gonna turn two years old in less than, like what, 2 weeks I believe! Kinda surreal this is also up and running after so long! Perhaps, subconsciously, I was kinda worried I wouldn't work on a project for that long, but I'm happy I get to prove my negativity wrong!!!! I really love how this site is looking and I love adding up to it and frankly I wish to work on this for as long as I can, even when I actually start making money with other projects. I'm really thankful for everyone that showed support in any way possible. Be it by following the Neocities acc, signing the guestbook, saving it on your broswer or just for reading, even if a little. I know it's not the exact same date yet, but really I'm really glad!!

Art Contest thing:

Soooooooooooooo onto other news, I've been participating in an art contest that the course I'm taking is holding at the moment. It has been going on for a some weeks now I'm pretty sure. The reason it takes so long is that there is multiple steps to be able to qualify, and each one has their time limits and such. Since I'm going for "digital arts", I can do pretty much any theme I want, which is a good and a bad thing because I can just do whatever I like, but since there is so many options it's kinda up in the air what would be a good theme. Well, I ended up choosing one that is kinda my vibe and probably no one else will do it, so maybe it being somewhat unique could help me a bit. I had to write my idea in detail and also make and present a moodboard so I can put my point across (also having a moodboard seems pretty neat when you're inspired by a lot of stuff). After that we're supposed to do the sketch, which I put around 5-6 sketches in the drive folder. Two of them come from my sketch book, the others I made on my laptop. We also had to paint the colors we wanna use in the final art which kinda screwed me over since my sketches are normally different shades of gray with maybe some bright red if the grays aren't helping much, so I have to change a few things here and there, but it does look much nicer and perhaps I should try doing that on my later works as well. Now, at least at the moment I'm writing this, I'm awaiting comfirmation to start the "defenitive version". I'm excited to see how it turns out and hopefully I'll get a really good number. I have no idea how the judges will feel about it, so I can only hope for the best!
Also, I haven't gone in detail about the artwork here and nor I have posted the sketches on the gallery yet, because I'm not supposed to. The contest by itself and it's steps isn't a secret, but we're not supposed to show our work online before the contest ends (and I'm pretty sure going in detail about it on the web also counts). If you post even if just the sketch BOOM disqualified, which y'know, is pretty fair, so I'm not gonna take any chances LoL!!!! I promise I'll put it up on the gallery after the contest ends and I get the greenlight!

Uh:

I don't really know how to begin this part so I'll cut to the chase. I've made a twitter account, but I do have a reason to do so. I believe I've said this before, but Geovane, my good teacher from my course, said I should make a social media account and also post my art there and I've already been told exact same thing by a few friends of mine. My teacher's reasoning is: "Art isn't art if you don't share with others" and, wanting or not, my works would probably reach more people if I posted on social media. Of course I never really liked the idea, but if I wanna do some serious stuff (like trying to sell games I made, for example), I'll need to use at least one of the platforms to at least have a chance to reach those that don't know about it. I do wish web making was somewhat main stream tho, because it would've been pretty easy and fun, but alas, that hasn't happened at the moment.
"Why twitter tho?" I hear you asking. Well, I've discussed the matter with a friend a few days ago and I wanted to hear her opinion on it, as she is way more experienced on social media than I am. After a while, it seems my options are in between Twitter, Instagram and Tiktok. Since she told me Instagram mostly demands consistency (and I'll be honest I don't I can deliver on that, at least not yet), I've decided to go with the first one, dispite me knowing it's not the greatest place. Frankly, while I think about this subject every now and then, I sorta noticed a lot of social media platforms seem problematic in some way, which sucks tbh. Even bluesky, which I've used before, seems to be having some serious problems with the CEO. Is every owner of these platforms just destined to be douches at best or a predators at worst????? Ugh!!! I hope, from the bottom of my heart, that the web revival movement will reach more and more people and maybe change how the internet works at the moment. Change for the better I mean. Be it like it was in the early 2000s or maybe something complety new, but whatever it is, I hope something as beautiful as these websites can make a difference.
Well, ummmmm, you can find the link to the acc on the about page, but only check it if you want to. I'll mostly just post art (which will be put in the gallery, even if it takes a while) and just say some (more) silly stuff (and maybe retweet cool art too), so it's nothing you're missing out. If anything, the account is more for the people over there than for the people over here, nothing that will effect sillyfes flow (a little warning! Some of my retweets are slightly suggestive, but it's most likely my friends art. I support her work with all my heart, but I'm aware that others may not really like it or may not be not old enough for it, so be cautious about that, please).

Well, this all I got for now. I've been thinking of making a drawing to commemorate when Sillyfes turns 2 years old, so I'll certainly diliver that along with another blogpost at the same day (and then putting on the gallery afterwards). I'll do my best to deliver it in time unlike last year. I'm gonna have some free time for the next few weeks and I'll use them to make this and the contest art, so I'm sure I'll make it in time, no problem! Also, I've been thinking of joining other webrings later down the line. Weird saying this because I could've just do that any time, but frankly I mostly stay at my own lane, so I hardly interact anywhere, but I've saw some fun ones that fits me and I feel joining them will be nice!! I wish everyone a really good weekend!! See ya!!!!
