Hey there! I hope everyone is doing well today!!
So, there has been a reform going on in my house since the last thursday, so my mom and I has to sleep on the living room for now. It's expect to all of this to be over at the day I'm writing this (sunday 8th), so hopefully it stays this way and nothing unexpected happen. Also, because of this reform, I've been coughing a lot lately, likely due to the dust and the smell of the products, which sucks, but I guess it can't be helped.
Even with these things happening, I did got to see and do some cool things before and after the start of the reform and I want to share it to others.

Bon Odori:

YKW2honke

I went to Bon Odori, a festival about the japanese cuture. I think I went there before when I was around 12 years old, but I can't remember much, to be honest. There was a lot of activities and stuff to buy, but we mostly saw the cool things. I remember the brazilian voice actor for Goku (who is also the same VA for Spongebob and Bear Grylls) had a meet and greet there, but since we were new there, we had no idea where he was.
The one and only think we've bought (aside for food, of course) was a Doraemon plushie and great quality, all things considered! He is, like, the perfect shape to hug like a small pillow and you look at him and think "yep, that's Doraemon". In fact, I think you could put small things into his pouch no problem, but I dunno why someone would do that, but great detail anyway.
My mom said I looked really annoyed at the festival and honestly that makes me embarrased, since overall it was a nice experience. Although, I think I know some of the factors that made look that way: There was a lot of people around, it started to rain every now and then and my mom and I holded hands so we wouldn't separete, but it was kinda difficult to walk around. Like, I'm taller than my mom, so I had to adjust myself a little bit, bending down ever so slighty. Plus, with the amount of people there I almost bumped on others quite often.
Of course, that isn't to say that my mom was in the wrong or something like that. I should've explained her that, but to be honest, I think it's kinda hard to explain emotions into words, so I dunno if I could've explained it to her in a way thaat makes sense.
In anyway, despite the little difficulties, I would say it was quite an experience to go to a festival, since I rarelly went to one of those when I was little.
Oh yeah, we also watched an in-depth explanation about sumo. I forgot to add this and now that I remembered I can't really tell where I can add this LoL sorry.

Dragon Quest IX:

I felt inspired by Birdwrong's blog, especially his by the blog page about the Dragon Quest Monster 3DS copies he got. "Why?" do you ask? It's the same as Puyo Puyo. I like the series and I would like to have something phycical related to it, espcially something I can use. So, after some time, I bought this japanese copy of Dragon Quest IX (9), since it honestly looked really... interesting I think it's the word I'm looking for.
Well, Dragon Quest IX is an original mainline title for the DS, considering that earlier entires (and also the ones made after IX) were made for table consoles. Sure, there is a quite amount of ports and original DQ titles for the DS, but the next big entry being made for a portable device in mind sounds really intriging. Maybe not alien, but I'm not sure it is that common. They were quite ambitious too! Over 700 hour to 100% a game is insane! And there was online too? All of that in a tiny thing like that? Wow!!
In anyway, you might think I'm in a pickle for getting the japanese version rather than one I could easily understand. While, yeah, I bought because it was cheaper than the other copies, I won't see the japanese as an obstacle! I could very well just use R4 or something to play it in english, but no, I will play it in japanese. For the times I played I have a dictonary open and I sometimes check if I'm gettin the gist of things by watching someone's longplay. While this is still the beggining, I could say I'm getting the hang of the story, y'know? I sometimes get a little surprised when I see the english script and I see that I actually understood what was going on. I can even read some words out of the dialogue without heaving the need to check the dictionary, so, I could say I'm doing really well! The only draw back is that it takes more time than usual, but I mean, no one is going to put a gun in my head for taking my time in a videogame (hopefully), so it's better to just stay calm and do my best!

boxart boxartback

The box art looks really amazing with Toriyama's illustrations! I think the front box art works really well, since seeing a team interacting kinda makes reference to the wi-fi capabilities this game had

planfets wifi

Gonna show these flyers first, since I didn't really expect them to be include it! You can see some codes for Club Nintendo and... a Square Enix membership? I had no idea that the latter existed, but as it turns out none of them works... There is also a Nintendo Wi-fi Collection booklet included! Again, this thecnically doesn't work anymore, but it's nice to see! I think it explains how to connect your DS to the internet

pag1 pag2 pag3 pag4 pag5 pag6

Here is a few pics of the instruction booklet, with a bunch of information once again! There is a map of the world, character explanations, explaning how you can move with the stylus, the initial vacations and even about the character creator! I'm also sure there is sections explaning controls, combat, online and even things about chests! I even noticed that the backgrounds changes throughout to differenciate each section, which is a nice touch in my opinion

announc announc2

Right at the end of booklet there is this section talking about other games and events(?) new at the time. On the left, we can see an mobile app related to DQIX, I'm not really sure what the second thing is, something related with V Jump and a DSi Ware game called Dragon Quest Wars, which I never heard about before! It seems to be a tactical RPG, kinda like a mix of Disgaea/Fire Emblem with... Dragon Quest Monsters? I should look more into it, sounds interesting! On the right we can see other Square Enix games! Fullmetal Alchemist game (the subtitle seems to "Prince of the Dawn"), Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Wii ware game, Blood of Bahamut (never heard of this one before) and... Nana No Game(The Nameless Games)? Never expected to see this, but cool!!

Monster slimes

The council of the sillies will decide your fate

Well, I can't really think much of anything else, so I suppose I'll end this blog page now. This is way shorter than usual, but I think that's okay. I'm happy to get to work on this website once again. Getting to interact with people here is WAY better than any social media, to be honest. Sometimes I wish that the artists that I like and friends of mine also had their very own personal websites, this way I could see their creativity in action. I've suggested my friends about it, but I suppose that the thought of getting close and personal with programming is pretty intimidating to people, which is fine. In anyway, I'm thankful for the sites that I got to see and read.
I think I should try to interact more often, maybe enter some webrings and the likes. Idk, I'm just talking what's on my mind so this probably doesn't make much sense LoL.

See ya!

(PS: The reform is over now and everything is in it's place again. I'm still coughing, which sucks, but I'm taking cough syrup now)
